World Mental Health Day

 World Mental Health Day (WMHD) is observed annually on October 10th. It's a global initiative to:


1. Raise awareness about mental health.

2. Reduce stigma around mental illness.

3. Promote mental well-being.


Theme for 2024: "Mental Health for All: Greater Investment – Greater Access"


Key objectives:


1. Increase investment in mental health services.

2. Improve access to quality mental health care.

3. Foster community support and inclusivity.


Statistics:


1. 1 in 5 people experience mental illness each year.

2. Mental health disorders affect 1 billion people worldwide.

3. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among 15-29-year-olds.


Ways to observe WMHD:


1. Share personal stories or listen to others.

2. Organize or participate in events (walks, webinars, fundraisers).

3. Practice self-care (meditation, exercise, mindfulness).

4. Support mental health organizations.
